Green Home Finance Accelerator (GHFA)

Green Home Finance Accelerator (GHFA)
There is a new green scheme to help boost energy efficiency in homes, launched in October 2022 by the government Department of Business,Energy & Industrial Strategy (BEIS). The fund aims to give homeowners more affordable financing options for energy efficient home improvements, to improve energy efficiency and resale value. Having access to an affordable loan could help more people cut their carbon footprint and reduce the overall emissions from UK housing.

Advantages of boosting energy efficiency in your home:
1) Help you save on energy bills.
2) Reduce your carbon footprint.
3) Add 5% to your home’s value.
4) Help you sell your home faster with a better EPC rating.
Those measures could help you save £300 a year on energy bills, according to the government. It is also worth noting that in the future the price you pay for your mortgage may become linked to the energy rating and carbon emissions it generates, and energy ratings may have financial consequences for owners.

Here at Guildcrest Estates we have a strong track record for our resales, and would encourage making your home as energy efficient as possible before putting it on the market. New builds are much more energy efficient than older properties as a result of modern building techniques, the materials used in their construction and the appliances installed. The new-build homes we have for sale at Guildcrest Estates meet the highest standards of energy efficiency with band ratings of B and scores of 85 on the EPC graphs, the average in England and Wales is D with scores of 60.
