Official Opening of Farmer Drive

Guildcrest Estates love to engage with the local business community and to build strong relationships so jumped at the opportunity to plan and host an event for the celebration of the official opening of Farmer Drive, a short private link road owned and retained by EKO LLP, which serves as the central spine road for hundreds of new commercial units and further proposed development at Manston Business Park.

The Farmer Drive road name has been chosen as a thank you to John Farmer the local Highway Officer/Consultant for Thanet & East Kent, to commemorate his 54 years of service as one of the most significant contributors to the area’s success.

The Guildcrest Estate office sits in the centre junction of Farmer Drive, where the small celebration occurred, so it seemed extremely fitting for Guildcrest Estates to host the afterparty, whilst providing the opportunity to wander around the development to see the significant and continuing progress and to showcase our latest phase of our commercial development “The Laurels”.

Many guests arrived for the occasion from all over Kent and enjoyed the celebrations, and as the sun shone, they all made their way to the road entrance for the ceremony.

Matt Hylands from EKO made a heart-warming speech commending John Farmer for his many contributions he has made to the county over the last 55 years, then the ceremonial ribbon was cut and after a huge round of applause we were lucky enough to have a impromptu flypast!

Everyone then made their way back to the Estates office for an array of reception drinks, and afternoon tea, with home made sausage rolls and a huge selection of cakes, to be consumed whilst mingling with councillors, the Mayor of Margate and a wide selection of local business representatives.

Matt Hyland from EKO was the first to send in his thanks “I wanted to say a really big thank you to you and all the crew at Guildcrest Estates, for your and their incredible hard work in putting together the event last Friday. The combined event had a real profound message, where the Laurels scheme at Manston Business Park is all part of raising the bar, in terms of both the identity and quality of the development as a working environment… I know John Farmer and the guests and everyone else who attended, including me, all had their expectations exceeded with such a slick and professional event.”

The celebration will mark the new era and continued successful delivery of Manston Business Park, as the most significant business location in Thanet.
