Chamber Charity Golf Day

The “Guildcrest Estates” all girls team entered the Thanet & East Kent and Dover District Chambers of Commerce Charity Golf Day at the renown Royal St. George’s Golf Club, in Sandwich, Kent at the end of October.

It was an honour to be part of the day playing on a course that has seen 15 Open Championships, and even more so, in supporting this year’s charity benefiting from the support of Chamber members, UK Sepsis Trust (UKST), whose mission is to improve sepsis outcomes by educating healthcare professionals and empowering the public to just ask ‘could it be sepsis?’.

Taking on this celebration Championship links course is no mean feat, so with the absence of the usual blustery conditions coupled with a dry day made things a little less challenging than the course can sometimes serve up and despite being up against some good golfers the team gelled well and more than held their own coming fifth out of twenty teams with a score of 87 well earned points!

Overall, the day was a great success and all proceeds from the Beat the Professional Competition on the third hole along was remitted to the charity.

After a great day of golf, everyone got together to enjoy an excellent dinner in the historic club house, a great speech by Golf Day Chairman David Foley paying tribute Golf Director Justin Bishop for his skills and experience, finished off with a prize giving event provided by the 25 sponsors and the gold sponsors Canterbury Nissan and Interforce.
